Youth Half-Day Summer Camps

Our half-day summer Camps will take your game to the next level. We offer the best instruction, the best system (D.O.C.), and the best methods to learn and grow your hockey skills. In this camp, players will be split into groups based on age and skill level.

High Performance Power Skating: Every player wants to add more power, speed, and acceleration into their game. The 3 keys areas of skating are balance, strength, and technique. With our innovative exercises and expertise in teaching, you will gain more power, speed, and acceleration while using your edges properly by focusing on areas of skating such as forward stride, forward cross overs, forward tight turns, forward & backward acceleration, pivots, stopping, backward skating, backward acceleration, and backward escape moves or reverse pivot tight turns. You will become a stronger, faster and more confident skater by the end of this program.

Hockey IQ: This program will help you improve your performance around how to play the game. You will learn where to properly be in the defensive zone and offensive zone, plus what you should be doing in various hockey situations to step up your game.

Category: Youth ages 7-13 (Any gender, AA-A-Select-HL)

Dates: 4- or 5-day camps weekly from July 2 through August 12, 2024

  • July (3 hours on ice/day)

    • Week 1 (4 days / July 2-5): Ultimate Scorer

    • Week 2 (5 days / July 8-12): Speed & Dangles

    • Week 3 (5 days / July 15-19): Defense

    • Week 4 (5 days / July 22-26): Ultimate Scorer

    • Week 5 (4 days / July 29-August 1): Speed & Dangles

  • August (4 hours on ice/day)

    • Week 6 (4 days / August 6-9): Ultimate Scorer

    • Week 7 (5 days / August 12-16): Speed & Dangles

Location: Leaside Arena (1073 Millwood Road, Toronto).

Time: 8:15-11:30Am (July camps) OR 8:30am-12:30pm (August morning camps) OR 12:30-4:30pm (August afternoon camps)

Format: Weekly camps will vary (see below) in terms of focus areas, but the general format is as follows:

  • All July half-day AND August morning camps:

    • 8:15am: Registration at front entrance

    • 8:30am: On-ice program begins

  • For July half-day camps:

    • 3 Hours: On-Ice Super Skills (with 3 flood breaks for the kids)

      • 1 Hour: High performance power skating

      • 1 Hour: Individual skills & Hockey IQ (customized to each weekly camp focus)

      • 1 Hour: Compete and battle drills + game scenario

    • 11:30am pick up

  • For August morning half-day camps:

    • 4 Hours: On-Ice Super Skills (with 3 flood breaks for the kids)

      • 1 Hour: High performance power skating

      • 2 Hours: Individual skills & Hockey IQ (customized to each weekly camp focus)

      • 1 Hour: Compete and battle drills + game scenario

    • 12:30pm pick up

  • For August afternoon half-day camps:

    • 12:15pm: Registration at front entrance

    • 12:30pm: On-ice program begins

    • 4 Hours: On-Ice Super Skills (with 3 flood breaks for the kids)

      • 1 Hour: High performance power skating

      • 2 Hours: Individual skills & Hockey IQ (customized to each weekly camp focus)

      • 1 Hour: Compete and battle drills + game scenario

    • 4:30pm pick up

Cost: $399 + HST (4-day July camps) OR $499 + HST (5-day July camps AND 4-day August morning camps) OR $649 + HST (5-day August morning camp)

Ultimate Scorer Camp

The Ultimate Scorer camp will focus on developing an amazing hockey shot. You will learn the proper techniques to improve the power, accuracy, and control of your wrist shot, snap shot, slap shot, flip shot, and backhand shot. We will take your scoring game to the next level as you develop how to score more goals by learning how to shoot in motion, one timers, and quick releases, plus add deception to your shots.

Speed & Dangles Camp

At Hockey Extreme’s puck dangles and shooting camp, you will gain more confidence to be creative with the puck. You will learn to handle the puck with confidence, how to deke and evade opponents, and how to keep the puck more on your stick when going end to end. In addition, you will learn to shoot the puck with proper techniques to improve the power, accuracy, and control of your shot.

Defence Camp

This program will help you to improve your performance in one-on-one situations. These situations happen over and over again and all players must be effective at battling for the puck with the opponent in the corners, along the boards, in front of the net, and on open ice. You will develop the skills to play full ice one-on-one with confidence.

Registration

Please note the following details before registering:

  • Requirements: Please bring your own water bottle with your name on it

  • Jerseys: Please bring your own practice jersey (or purchase a Hockey Extreme jersey during registration).

  • Off-Ice: Please bring running shoes and relaxed clothing for off-ice fun skills.

  • Food: Please bring snacks to eat during your two breaks (no nuts, see below).

  • Nut-Free: Peanut allergies are extremely common among children. In many cases, peanuts can cause fatal and near-fatal reactions for children who are allergic. Please do not bring any products containing nuts (peanuts or tree nuts) into the arena. Thank you for helping us keep our kids safe.

  • Refund Policy: If you register for this camp, there are no refunds, unless the government shuts the arena down. If you are sick, or are unable to make the camp, there are no refunds..
